4. Website Use
You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website or its underlying systems
- Transmit any harmful, offensive, or misleading content through the contact form
- Reproduce or redistribute website content without written permission
- Use the website in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair its operation
5. Engagement and Service Terms
A formal engagement begins when both parties have signed a written engagement letter confirming scope, fees, and timeline. The following terms apply to all engagements:
- Fees are payable as set out in the engagement letter. Payment terms are typically 14 days from invoice.
- Disbursements — including court filing fees, government charges, and third-party costs — are charged separately at actual cost.
- Timelines provided are estimates. Delays caused by third parties, regulatory processes, or circumstances beyond our control do not constitute a breach of these terms.
- You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information relevant to your matter. We cannot be held responsible for outcomes affected by information you did not disclose.
6. Payment Terms
The fixed professional fees for our services are listed on our website in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). These fees are subject to change; the fee applicable to any engagement is the one stated in the signed engagement letter.
- Payment methods accepted: bank transfer, online banking.
- A deposit may be required before work begins, as specified in the engagement letter.
- Refund requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis, having regard to the work completed and reasonable costs incurred.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, design, and structure — is the intellectual property of Verdictum and is protected under applicable Malaysian law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or modify any content from this website without our prior written consent.
Documents and agreements produced for you as part of an engagement are for your use in the specific context of that engagement. They are not to be shared as general templates or published without our approval.
8. Disclaimers
The information provided on this website is for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. Reading this website does not create a solicitor-client relationship. Please contact us directly to discuss your specific legal situation.
Our services are provided with reasonable professional care and skill. We do not make any representations about specific legal outcomes, as these depend on factors outside our control including the conduct of third parties and decisions of courts and regulatory bodies.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, Verdictum's liability to you in connection with any engagement is limited to the professional fees paid for that specific engagement. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for professional negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Termination
Either party may terminate an engagement on reasonable notice. If you terminate an engagement, you remain liable for fees in respect of work completed up to the point of termination. Verdictum may terminate an engagement if continued representation would conflict with our professional obligations or ethical duties.
11. Dispute Resolution
If a dispute arises under these terms, both parties agree to first attempt to resolve it informally by written notice. If informal resolution is not reached within 30 days, disputes shall be referred to mediation under the auspices of the Malaysian Mediation Centre before any court proceedings are initiated, except where injunctive relief is required.
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. The courts of Malaysia shall have jurisdiction over any disputes that proceed to litigation.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. Your continued use of this website after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. Existing engagements are governed by the terms in effect at the time they were entered into.
